Its revenues in recent years have consistently totaled more than US$ 100 million annually.
Being ecologically and socially minded, the Rasin Group attributes great importance to conducting its activities in a manner that is friendly to both the environment and to the communities in which they take place.
Throughout its years of activity, the Group has acquired proven expertise and experience in the implementation of significant enterprises, which contribute to its continuous success.
The Rasin Group, led by its founder, Yitzhak Rasin, continues to identify lucrative business opportunities and launch new enterprises. One of these is a project the Group has initiated in Ivory Coast – a country in which it has been active since 2000, where it has established a strong business infrastructure and maintains excellent contacts, facilitating and supporting its ongoing activities.
DekelOil's enterprise in Ivory Coast is a vertically structured, integrated operation involving the cultivation of oil palm plantations, the extraction of palm oil and palm kernel oil and its marketing and sale both locally and internationally to food, energy and cosmetics industries, in which it is extensively used due to its many benefits:
In the food industry: it is the least expensive of all edible plant-derived
oils, is rich in beta-carotenes and is considered as the most abundant
natural source of carotenoids, which are recognized as effective
antioxidants.
In the green energy industry: biodiesel produced from palm oil emits
drastically less greenhouse gases than petroleum-based energy
sources, and is also safer, renewable, biodegradable and sustainable.
In the cosmetics industry: palm oil components help prevent skin aging
fat oxidation, reduce blood pressure, inhibit human breast cancer
cells and lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
The decision to use oil palms specifically as feedstock was made because they supply the best yield per hectare by far, and are indigenous to Ivory Coast, where they thrive.
DekelOil's projects also offer participating farmers a variety of advantages, and benefits the community as a whole.
